Typically small and brown, some varieties include bell-caped panaeolus, semi-ovate panaeolus, panaeolus subaltus and panaeolus foenisecci. Characterized by dark blue or brown gills, very dark spore print and a kinky stem.
Spores: Black, lemonshaped on 4-spored basidia
This strain responds well in the laboratory and is exceptionally large for the species. Under ideal conditions this strain can result in mushrooms with caps a full centimeter larger than published maxima.
